Fireworks Night 2026: Where to Watch Family-Friendly Displays

Where to Stand on Bonfire Night: Our 2026 Firework Guide

The fifth of November rewards a little forward planning. The best ticketed displays sell out weeks ahead, and the free ones reward anyone who knows where to stand.

So we have done the legwork. Our 2026 guide gathers 123 firework displays across twelve regions of the United Kingdom, from the great civic shows to village bonfires, racecourse spectaculars and a handful of quieter, low-bang evenings for younger children.

Every date has been published by the organiser, venue, council or official tourism board. Where gate times and prices have been announced, we have included them. Where they have not, we have said so rather than guess.

A few that caught our eye

Displays are listed by date within each region, so you can see at a glance what is on the evening you are free. Among them:

  • Lewes Bonfire Night, East Sussex (Thursday 5 November). The most famous bonfire celebration in the country, and an experience in itself.

  • Himley Fireworks, near Dudley (Saturday 7 November). A 50th anniversary year, with a 30-minute display choreographed to music and premium viewing tiers with Hall access.

  • Ottery St Mary Tar Barrels, East Devon (Thursday 5 November). A centuries-old tradition, unlike anything else on the calendar.

  • Leeds Castle Fireworks Spectacular, Kent (Saturday 7 and Sunday 8 November). Fireworks over the moat of one of England's loveliest castles.

  • Bonfire Night at Low Wood Bay, Windermere (Thursday 5 November). Fireworks over the lake, with dinner, overnight and spa packages for those who would rather not drive home.

  • Sophiaworks, Cardiff (Thursday 5 November). Closer to home for us, and always well attended.

For families with younger children, look out for the low-bang and reduced-noise displays in Sheffield, Thirsk, Wakefield and across Greater Manchester.

A note on booking: a growing number of displays sell out in advance, and several sell no tickets at all on the gate. If one is marked advance only, it is worth booking as soon as you have decided.
